Check-In Time

Well, it that time of the month... my check-in for June is not as bad as I thought it would be, actually.  1) Blog the 1st of each month: because I work all day tomorrow I am a day early but still "ON TARGET" 2) Maintain an intentional spiritual practice: This month was mostly journaling as I have 2 "paper-heavy" classes this term. The New Moon found me still doing homework at 6pm so I explained to those who were coming for Circle that I was just exhausted and stressed. The Full Moon was usurped by a women's dinner that changed its date on me. But it was a fulfilling evening! I journaled for both events, for a total of 4 entries (1 per week). I am okay with that as part of the Solstice was about letting the fire burn away that which was not necessary at this point in my life. I am so close (7 more months) to the finish line for school and classes are ramping up now. Some of the rest of the daily stuff is just going to have to take a back seat for the rest of thi...

Goodbye May...Hello Summer

Let me check in as a jumping-off point this month. 1) Blog the 1st of each month: a day early but here I am! "ON TARGET" 2) Maintain an intentional spiritual practice: I was on the road to Franklin, NC during the New Moon. I was home for the Full Moon which was also a total lunar eclipse in Sagittarius. I got to see some shadowing as it started but, between the clouds hanging on the horizon and the Blood Moon dropping below our horizon before the end, I could not see it through totality. Still, we observed it with a fire and circle, complete with conversation amongst friends. Only 2 journal entries (one on 1st, one on 31st) but it really has been quite a busy month. Already set my 2021 Desires grid June stone and placed it outside to charge the addition. All considered, going to mark this one as "ON TARGET"  3) Lose one pound each month: I weigh the same this time. And, considering the weeklong trip in Franklin and my birthday, I am amazed that is so.  Still...

April Showers Indeed!

Well, I did not track ALL the rain in April, but there was so much in a one-week period that it actually caught my attention. A whopping 19 inches of rain just from April 11th-17th. Anyways... April was a good, albeit wet, month! My "returned from afar" friend celebrated her birthday on the 1st. I passed both my classes with A's and remain on the Dean's list (for now). Got to go to Texas to see CCJ for his 2nd birthday and enjoyed some family time and the SATX Zoo. The last trainee at work hit the floor solo in mid-April, making the unit fully staffed. You cannot overestimate how freaking happy that made me. We were understaffed before Covid but hit critical mass in October 2020. Took 6 loooong months to dig out of that hole. This term is Algebra and Sociology. Love my Algebra teacher, not wild about the class. However, I will be done with it on June 8th. Actually, I will need to be finished with all the coursework by the 7th as June 8th is my follow-up with my onco...

Spring has Sprung

Oh, how gorgeous are our spring days? Very!  Filled with with singing birds, nasty gnats, fresh blooms, sweeping clouds. Even the occasional cold front coming through (like tonight) can't knock the bloom off of the beauty that is Coastal MS this time of year.  Let me check-in and get that out of the way: ) Blog the 1st of each month:  .a day early since tomorrow is a long-ass work day but here I am! "ON TARGET" 2) Maintain an intentional spiritual practice:  March started with a Pisces New Moon, a week later was the Spring Equinox (Ostara), and then a week after that was a Libra Full Moon. Three weekends of ritual in a row...WOW!  I set out my year-long "Desires" grid under the Libra full moon energies. And I made 7 journal entries. "ON TARGET"            3) Lose one pound each month:  I actually gained 0.9#. Ugh. Looking back on March, I see a week of eating out (nachos) was probably not my best idea.  This is finals...

Bird Song

Wow, March 1st already! I was up early this morning (as is my norm) and so I am listening to the birds as they awake. I have already taken care of all the financial minutiae that must occur on the 1st and 15th monthly. Coffee was been consumed throughout the process. All that is left before I go to my college classes is to check-in on my monthly goals for February and see what March has planned for my time.  1) Blog the 1st of each month: and look...here I am! "ON TARGET" 2) Maintain an intentional spiritual practice: I observed both the new and full moons with fire and friends. The new moon was on the patio because of the weather. The full moon had different friends and was held outdoors. Wrote five journal entries for the month. I set out my year-long "Desires" grid last night since still under the Virgo full moon energies. "ON TARGET"            3) Lose one pound each month: I actually lost just over 3! "ON TARGET" February started with Imb...

Post-January Check-in

Well, January has come and gone. Covid19 still here, mask mandates still in place, gas prices still rising. It is cold but I am going camping in a few days so that is okay. Severus is not thrilled with seeing more of Harley as he pops out of his room.  So, the goals for last month were:  1) Blog the 1st of each month: I admit today is the 2nd. But yesterday was a work day, and a long day. Blogging is like the moon, in that the energy is valid a day before and after. :-)  "ON TARGET" 2) Maintain an intentional spiritual practice: I observed both the new and full moons with a fire and friends. I am journaling at least weekly. I set a grid out for the lunar cycle. And i will be observing Imbolc this evening when home from work. "ON TARGET"            3) Lose one pound each month: I actually did! "ON TARGET" February will see me packing for our upcoming trip, taking down the altar for Imbolc and setting up one for Spring Equinox, planning i...

Hello 2021

Well, 2020 was an odd year, to say the least. And, as this is my first post of 2021, it will be my (typical) goals post. For a retrospective, I went back to 2020 (and 2019) to look at my previous goals.  My 2020 recap (and my comment on status will be after each):  #1) Follow my budget to pay off ALL debt by this year's end (I did not succeed in paying it all off, but I got close)  #2) Create one piece of art each month... an 8x8 canvas, a journal or booklet, a mixed media piece, just something artistic (nope, did not happen)  #3) Participate in my art group's "Birthday Club" where we send a handmade card and an ATC to those celebrating birthdays (done and done)  #4) 2020's weekly scrapbook layout challenge over at the Scraptacular Cropping Club (did great up until August, more on that later)  #5) the Monthly lottery challenge in my ATC Art Group on IO Groups (nope, did not happen)       As you know, 2020 had a few hu...
