work is getting in the way of so much stuff...

...but I am grateful to be employed doing something I enjoy. i just don't enjoy being there 75% of my week. I haven;t made a single piece of art in the last 2+ weeks because there is so much to do when only off one day a week. My one day off last week was errands. My one day off this week was lunch with friends and grocery shopping. I have a workshop coming up this Friday and no idea what the topic will be as of yet. Will work on that Thursday prior. I have several mini books to complete. Still trying to get one of my handmade journals back from a friend that borrowed it as a sample for a class she was lining up (different topic but was wanting them to think about making their own journals for it). And stacks of stuff from the last 2 weeks are just sitting on my art table, staring challengingly at me, daring me to tackle them. ARGH. So, off to walk the dog and then bedtime. My BF got me a Vivo and it tells me that, in spite of the 12,000+ steps I have already walked today whilst ...

This is a CASEd card (Copy And Share everything). The original is from the May/June 2015 issue of Stampin'Success (SU! demos get it) with the photo on the top right and my card on the bottom left. I have the older SU heart punch so used that, along with an arrow punch, yarn & sentiment. The embossing folder is the hexagonal design, and washi tape at the top.

Rain Rain GO AWAY...

Image
... at least for tomorrow...my day off? So far, this week, we've seen not quite a FULL rain gauge (that is 10" my friends). We've had to erect an umbrella over the raised bed gardens because the tomatoes were throwing out life rafts to the strawberries. What a sight that was to see. And the squirrels are taking up residence in the oak tree and fishing their nuts (yes, I said it) out of the passing river underneath. The hummingbirds have given up on the feeders (rain is beating them off) and are roosting on the fence under the eaves (which is driving the cats absolutely NUTS). The mice have taken up umbrellas and moved (in formation, no less) into the shed out back (stray cats have taken over the garage). It's suddenly interesting to be the higher ground around our neighborhood. And, on my way home tonight, 28th street has been closed. Knew that was coming because water was already over the road when I passed @ 4am ...we've had another 13 hours of rain since then......
