The Long Table, the Maiden, and the Wind Moon

I did not brace against the wind this month. I let it move through me and around me. There were moments of standing in public witness— signs raised, voices joined, honks and waves reminding me that even small bodies in motion are part of something larger. There were moments of quiet tending— palms gathered and placed, spaces prepared, traditions held not as obligation but as living threads I chose to carry. There were moments of almost-losing and gentle finding— a misplaced wallet, a retraced path, the reminder that not everything lost is gone, and not everything found needs to be dramatic. There was food made and shared, tables extended, grief given a chair and a plate, and gratitude spoken in the presence of absence. There was laughter in ordinary places— a wheelbarrow assembled to the sound of questions and answers, hands busy, hearts light, joy arriving without announcement. There was responsibility accepted— not as a burden, but as a steadying of hands around somethi...

Last night @ our lunar we revealed this year's "Secret Bees". That was fun!! So, here is a Bee card! And, I am out the door... have a safe & Blessed New Year's Eve, y'all!

happy tuesday... bath night...cereal night...

I know, I know... 19 days later... sorry! Did I mention I have been up to my ears in work? And by work, I mean work work (that 8-5 kind) as well as home work. Actually, work work is where I go to rest, nap for lunch, get stuff done. The home work is HARD. Get up, walk the dogs, feed the dogs... shower... scoop cat litter, feed & water cats... back to the kitchen to cook breakfast... oh, lizards want breakfast too? And the dogs? No, wait.. they ate already...right? Then check the snakes' water bowls, grab the dogs & put them in the pen (watch those steps in the rain... gonna relabel the top one ASS and the one under that BUSTER. At least the landing was soft.. in the MUD. Sigh. Then take out the trash, load the car... oops...back inside for my (forgotten) lunchbox & coffee. .. then the 45 minute commute. 5pm comes, I drive home, do it all over again! Oh, and I also spent 2 nights making sure the guest dogs (3) were unable to leave our warm & hospitable yard. Sigh. ...

yikes..a week later

Wow, have not posted since my mom's retirement party. Been working, actually... season is starting up, girls are squabbling, you know...tension. Sigh. And OH the things we have gotten done at the house! Tonight is the lunar ritual in S Austin and then we are FREE until Tuesday!! I LOVE paid holidays. Have only gotten one card made so far this week so that is what I plan to do most during this 3 day weekend. The card is simple, pink base, brown scrap. It reminded me Spring so I added the bunny & flowers. Poof...a card!
