2 weeks later...

Yes, I missed last week. That means I missed my accountability. But I have a really great reason...SHEILA WAS HERE! My Bestie from Texas comes every July 4th so we had a great 4 days. Dinner @ Speckle T's, fireworks on the beach in Long Beach, thrift shopping all down the coast, live music @ Finally First Friday, crab festival Saturday, gospel hour @ Darwell's Sunday before returning her back to NOLA to catch her flight. Last night was the 1st meeting of a book club I am moderating...the conversation was enlightening and terrific. Okay...accountability: #1) participating in my art group's "Birthday Club" where we send a handmade item to those celebrating birthdays. MET #2) 2019's weekly scrapbook layout challenge over at the Scraptacular Cropping Club MET #3) the 52 Weeks Being Me challenge over at the Words of Me Project Met, and it is getting better as I get into it. The last couple of challenges have been to choose a word to finish the year with base...

How did April go?

I am at work all day tomorrow and Sunday is also busy so let me go ahead and do my Monthly Accountability post now. Same MONTHLY GOALS: make a booklet or journal. 3 workouts/wk. ATC Challenge. Mission Inspiration journal challenge. Birthday card group. Blog once weekly. Start on one of the windows I reclaimed and turn it into something artistic. TieDye some scrubs. The Results are in.... 3 outta 5 done I made several small journals and took them as demos to Art Night. I DID NOT work out at least 3 times every week bc of work schedule and some health issues. I DID complete April's ATC Challenge. I DID complete April's Mission Inspiration Challenge (today, LOL) I DID make birthday cards for those that were due. I DID NOT blog all 4 weeks of April (this will be my 3rd post this month, not 4th...sigh) What ELSE did April include? Besides working 4 days a week instead of 3? I got to see an Opera (was a bucket list item)...Faust. WONDERFUL!! Loved It!! Playing in my pl...

Been a while.. I know...

Started the week on Sunday with an orchestra seat for the final play of the 2016-2017 opera season in New Orleans. Faust. OMG! Was so enthralling I was not even aware of three hours passing. Worked again Monday & Tuesday. Today was a day off with only one errand to run. Took Midi to Dr Hunt since his mommy was working. WOW. Feel like a slacker or something. So I made a few exploding envelope cards for a some upcoming birthday people on my list. I worked on my room for a bit. I made all 3 meals for tomorrow and dinner for tonight. Did my laundry, worked out, took a shower... now going to go chill and catch up with the BF and see how our days compare. And walk the dogs. Saw a bald eagle on the Pass Pier last night on my way home but had no real camera... just crappy cell phone so no picture. I will leave you with one of the newest member of our little family.

February is here...

...and I am done with my 2016 scrapbook!! All done... like put out in the bookcase in the Family Room DONE!! I am so excited... went back & put the captions and notes on the rest of pages. If you recall, those pages were completed last Friday at some ungodly hour during our twice monthly art group. I had a couple of other goals for January: make a book, 3 workouts/wk, weekly chore list, ATC Challenge, Mission Inspiration journal challenge, birthday card group and Blog. The Results are in.... I DID NOT make a book. I DID work out at least 3 times a week (some even saw 5!!). I DID the weekly chore... except that killed our vacuum cleaner. LMAO. I DID complete January's ATC Challenge. I DID complete January's Mission Inspiration Challenge. I DID make birthday cards for those that were due. I DID blog but only 3 times (goal was 4 so only completed 75%). What else did January include? Art time, both with friends and alone. Lost 3# & 6 inches. Worked 4 days a week...

UTEE can be hazardous to my health

Image
Well, had a crafting accident today...bummed. On the upside of things I have 4 penpals to reply to so now I have the time. I did get the project finished but it was the only thing I have finished today. I was using UTEE and embossing ink alternately on a pumpkin diecut using tweezers. All was going well, right up until it fell from the fine point tweezers and onto my hand while still in the flux state. Blisters, yup. Not to mention having to peel the embossing powder off my skin. So I have poured some lavender essential oil on the burns and my hand is sitting on an ice pack while I type one-handed. I was going to type then post a tutorial... but here is the card I made for it. Tutorial may need to wait a bit.

New week, new endeavors...

I have not accomplished all the tasks I set out for myself as of yet today, but I am getting to them... slowly. A tad chilly here on the supposed spring morning on the Mississippi Sound. Sigh. So ready for summer. I have unpacked the last of the "get around to them eventually" tubs hidden away in closet whilst company was present in the guest room earlier this month. Have unpacked last kitchen box as well. I have not yet done my 2nd art journal page for March but it is on today's list. Have not yet started on Altoid shrine for one of my RNs at work either, but, again.. it is on the list. I have created a photo book for my patients to peruse (they have been asking for pics of new house) and created a birthday card. Also made (and consumed, of course) breakfast for 2 AND made my 3 meals for tomorrow for work. I found, unpacked and hung my Xanth pewter figurines on their shelf!! Wow... got them 21 years ago. I have been packing them around and now, finally, they are back o...
