May's Blue Full Moon in Sagittarius--aiming the arrow

There is a particular kind of moon that doesn’t feel like an ending, but like a turning of the head. This one arrives as a Blue Full Moon in Sagittarius — a second full moon in a single month, rare and slightly electric, as if the sky is reminding me that perspective can shift more than once in the same breath. Sagittarius is the sign of the arrow: not just motion, but intention. Direction. Faith in what has not yet been reached. And I feel that theme here — not as certainty, but as orientation. Not everything is resolved. Not everything is clear. But something in me is no longer circling the question in the same way. Something has started to point . Aiming the arrow before summer fully opens. There is a difference between rushing forward and recognizing where life is already asking to be aimed. This feels like the second thing. The month behind me has been full of noticing — of tending, sorting, responding, adjusting. Not dramatic, but deeply formative in its own way. The kind of shap...

Less "Bonfire in the field", more "Ember in the hand"

This month does not arrive as a single clear turning. It arrives in layers—like weather systems crossing the same sky. Beltane on one hand: movement, participation, the steady return of life asking to be lived out loud again. And beneath it, the Flower Moon in Scorpio: depth, emotional honesty, and the quiet dismantling of anything that can’t stay true under closer light. Nothing about it is separate. It all happens at once. April saw me showing up in the middle of ordinary obligations that still carried weight. Delivering our older RV to a stranger so 3 children could “camp out” for the first time, managing the logistics of it, and moving through the practical realities of change—these were not small things. They were acts of coordination, release, and responsibility all at once. Life asking for attention in measurable, physical ways. I joined a small writing group—standing inside uncertainty, sharing something I wasn’t fully sure I wanted to reveal, and discovering afterward tha...

59% of 2021 is gone

Wow, over half of 2021 is already gone?!? Tomorrow is my last day in Term 6. Term 7 kicks off on August 11, and this one actually has real (rather than electronic) books!! My hope is that this proves to be easier when we go on our annual trip . Speaking of trips, the kids could not make it last weekend (illness) but Sheila is scheduled for this weekend. Gulf Shores, here we come!  For my Dean's list & 4.0GPA in the last 2 terms, I bought myself an HP Sprocket. I chose the 2x3" size so it is compatible with my planners. My goal is to do most of my memory keeping for our  Grand Circle Trip  on the go. Normally I take pictures for the whole trip, return home and upload those 1000 or so photos, then wait for Snapfish's "penny print sale" to order them. Then there is another 2-week wait to get the photos back so I can scrapbook them. Oh, and try to remember where each one was taken, and when.  The Sprocket is micro USB rechargeable and uses Bluetooth. What it doe...

Spring has Sprung

Oh, how gorgeous are our spring days? Very!  Filled with with singing birds, nasty gnats, fresh blooms, sweeping clouds. Even the occasional cold front coming through (like tonight) can't knock the bloom off of the beauty that is Coastal MS this time of year.  Let me check-in and get that out of the way: ) Blog the 1st of each month:  .a day early since tomorrow is a long-ass work day but here I am! "ON TARGET" 2) Maintain an intentional spiritual practice:  March started with a Pisces New Moon, a week later was the Spring Equinox (Ostara), and then a week after that was a Libra Full Moon. Three weekends of ritual in a row...WOW!  I set out my year-long "Desires" grid under the Libra full moon energies. And I made 7 journal entries. "ON TARGET"            3) Lose one pound each month:  I actually gained 0.9#. Ugh. Looking back on March, I see a week of eating out (nachos) was probably not my best idea.  This is finals...

Bird Song

Wow, March 1st already! I was up early this morning (as is my norm) and so I am listening to the birds as they awake. I have already taken care of all the financial minutiae that must occur on the 1st and 15th monthly. Coffee was been consumed throughout the process. All that is left before I go to my college classes is to check-in on my monthly goals for February and see what March has planned for my time.  1) Blog the 1st of each month: and look...here I am! "ON TARGET" 2) Maintain an intentional spiritual practice: I observed both the new and full moons with fire and friends. The new moon was on the patio because of the weather. The full moon had different friends and was held outdoors. Wrote five journal entries for the month. I set out my year-long "Desires" grid last night since still under the Virgo full moon energies. "ON TARGET"            3) Lose one pound each month: I actually lost just over 3! "ON TARGET" February started with Imb...
