"G" Journal Challenge

Image
So, the next letter in my journal challenge was G and the task was to make a page that had an insert (also called a "tip in") with windows. This is my page... Great Words Sizzle". Hope you enjoy it! The first is the actual journal page, the middle is the tip in placed over the right side journal page and the last is the tip in placed over the left side journal page. I used Stampin'Up ink pads, yellow glitter glue and sparkle embossing powder (over the seahorse)

this is an awesome product!!

Following my heart

Image
I made a card using a mask for the moon then sponging pink piroutte, pumpkin pie & rich razzleberry inks over it. Used the tree stamp from the Le Jardin Botanique set and thin black ribbon around left side, Next, I mounted it on a 5.5x4.25" whisper white base. Stamped the sentiment from Whimsical Words. and there you are, a card in less than 5 minutes, start to finish.

Today's card PLUS a tutorial

Have you ever needed a card fast? Who hasn't! Here is a simple technique to create layering pieces for making 8 cards with just 2 pieces of cardstock & 8 card bases. Simply adhere these pieces to the card bases and you're set! Today's card was created using pink piroutte, pool party and confetti white papers and inks and stamps from the asian artistry set. The tutorial will let you in on how to make 8 of these in less than 15 minutes!! How awesome is that?! cheeky So, here is the tutorial for portrait oriented cards:: CARD BASES (Portrait Orientation) You need 4 sheets coordinating 8.5x11, cut @ 5.5” & scored & 4.25” for 8 bases COLORED CARDSTOCK (Matting pieces) Cut your cardstock in half lengthways to 4 1/4" x 11". Cut those 2 resulting pieces in half to become 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Cut those 4 resulting pieces in half to become 4 1/4" x 2 3/4" You will now have 8 pieces of colored cardstock NEUTRAL CARDSTOCK (Focal p...

8 days and 3 hours later...

so... I last posted eight days ago... and to explain (sorta) why, lemme just say that it took me 2 hours and 55 minutes tonight just to get down to the cover that lays over my art table (to keep cat hair at bay). Did I DO any art? Not unless you count "artfully" managing to squeeze my latest acquisitions into the already crowded drawers not meant to contain all the stuff I have in them. Went to the HUGE Joann's Fabric & CRAFT store in North Austin last Saturday. What a day to decide to lose my virginity to the experience. EVERYTHING (at least on the Craft side) was ON SALE. And for those of you who know me, you know I refuse to purchase ANYTHING at retail price. If I can't find it on sale or with a coupon for at least 40% off, I do not need it. I will find something else to do what I am needing done. Clearance is my middle name. Anyways... lots of good finds.. and I do mean good. Even Sizzix was on sale... got one of those & one on clearance! So tonight was...

But why do I feel this party's over?

Image
I'm safe, up high.... ah, Pink! What a way to get moving in the morning. So, this card is a cream base, green paper that was run thru the Sizzix with a texture plate, a punch that started life as a backing sheet for some stickers I bought, a sticker on that, some ribon & RS the sentiment in VersaMark, sprinkled w/EP & heat embossed. Thursdday... the day I go pick up a catalog and some stamps from Stampin'Up (SU) demonstrator Terry Foley ! 'Course, have to get through work 1st. Sigh. Then home to finish working on some ATC sets I have due out next week. Also, since Rebel is home, going to get him to start digging our compost pit so I can empty the containers in the fridge. Coffee grounds, egg shells, raw veggie remains, newspaper, etc will land in there instead of the trash can.

let the games being...

Oh, wait, it is ART that is beginning... the monthly arts & crafts circle!! Wonderful goings on!!! This is bleaching, the butterfly Sizzix die and a SU stamp!
