home, now to coffee group!

Got home from the Mississippi Petrified Forest & Council last night... 2nd load of laundry is in wash & I am headed to the Monday morning coffee group in Gulfport. Pictures later!

WOW, NOT EVEN NOON YET!

Well, cap lock was on for the title, but I think I will leave it because I have been busy and expected it to be PM hours already. What have I been doing? Well, thanks to Callie I was up not too long after 7am. Had a cup of coffee then made a spirulina smoothie for Laureli and I to enjoy for breakfast. Since then I have (in no particular order) :: showered and gotten dressed dehydrated fruits (mango, ginger & pineapple) to add to my homemade trail mix made a card to fill a custom order tidied the kitchen started my potato soup recipe for "to go" lunches for Friday & Saturday made "to go" breakfasts for Friday and Saturday (I work next 2 days so pack my breakfasts & lunches the day before) washed a load of laundry and placed it in dryer rounded up and head counted 3 of the 4 kitties (Kitta is outside the yard, sigh) read and replied to emails and Facebook posted on my daily creativity blog and on here! What now? I will sit and study a little more for...

Catching Up

ok, I know... 12 days later... but what a fun filled 12 days!! So, I started a journal for this year's Year of" project. the idea is to take a picture of some event or activity or item that stood out for me that day and then jot down a quick paragraph about it. I am actually keeping up with that, and with work, and with card making... so in that grand scheme of things, going 12 days without a post on here is not such a bad thing as it at first seemed to be when I looked at the last post's date :-) The 10th was my son's birthday.... got to talk with him for a bit. And, as it was my day off, I finally got around to starting the scrapbookking process of all the stuff I have collected for a particualr album dating back to Jan 2010. On the 11th I worked, and if you know me you know my days at work are LOOOONGG. The 12th I was a massage dummy for demonstration of leg work. Poor me, I know. :-) 13th was sink repair day. 14th I was called in to work for someone who couldn...

what I have been up to lately

Rainy foggy wet days off from work are good for card making... here is one of my most recent.... and now I am off to run an errand for Laureli (since she is working and I am off) that will take me right along the beach... then home for some lunch, gather some wet kitties and make more cards! Also... it was @ 1:14pm this day in 1987 that Jayce arrived ... Happy Birthday to my favorite son!

way too early....

Between Callie and Cappi, I was apparently not meant to sleep in today...sigh. On the plus side, I am up early enough to get my car to the shop for its oil change and catch a ride back to the house so I can create some cards. Made a few last week, sent one to David as a Thank You for the crispy catfish dinner last Sunday. Now working on my second cup of coffee while the space heater does its thing in here. Hands need to be able to feel the paper I am gluing, you see...and it is a bit chilly in South Mississippi this morning. It is so chilly that the kitties are not exactly outside... they are in the garage. Close enough to outside without the discomfort of cold, LOL. And, since their kitty tree thing (6ft tall wood & carpet structure) needs to be recovered, that is where it is currently parked. So they are happy to be out there with it. I am sure they are already "discussing" who gets the very top spot, sigh.. Off today, tomorrow AND Sunday! 3 days in a row. Since I wa...

Good vs Evil

I am reading a book that one of my TTS patients shared with me and I found a conversation in there about GOOD versus EVIL that I wanted to put out as "food for thought" as we move into 2013 and into a shifting consciousness. I wont repeat the whole thing but just the jumping off point of the conversation: Remember that EVIL is simply a WORD.. it is not a REAL thing. The word is not describing an actual item but rather a lack or absence of something else: Good. So. just as darkness is the absence of light or death is the absence of life, evil is only be understood in relation to good, just as darkness or death are understood only in relation to light or life. They do not have an actual existence. I wonder, what would happen if we chose to focus on the actual event rather than the absence of the event? If we chose to live in the light, the life, the good, the love of something bigger than ourselves, what would happen? If removing ourselves from light/life/good gives us...

Blessings of the Storm....

Be it Yule or Christmas or Hanukkah (Festival of Lights) or Kwanzaa ("first fruits" in Swahili) I wish you many blessings of love and light as 2012 draws to a close. As for those of us living on the southern MS Gulf Coast, a storm is coming with some severe weather, tornadic winds and rain. Worked Monday then home for a brief nap before heading to the choir party, which was followed by choir practice and then the midnight mass... exchanged gifts when we got home and them settled in for a long winter's sleep. Don;t know about the sugar plums because I was dead dog tired. Slept late then leisurely enjoyed a couple of cups of Dunkin' Donuts Mocha Mint holiday coffee until, feeling refreshed and starving, we headed to Waffle House for pumpkin spice waffles and hash browns covered & capped. YUM!! Then strolled along the beach before heading to Scharrion's place to greet her. Now, storm is spattering the cats with rain so we have called them all indoors and are...
