Pioneer rocks

Two of the things I promised myself when my IRS refund arrived was to purchase a new Pioneer stereo for my vehicle and get a manicure. I made good on both promises yesterday!! Got the manicure at Sunset Nails then got the stereo installed at Best Buy in less than 30 minutes. It is freakin' amazing.. bluetooth enabled, USB on the face, auxilary jack, and it has changing colors that absolutely rock! It is as close as I will get (probably) to a tie-dye stereo. Closed my Wells Fargo accounts because my "free checking" was costing me $10/month. Also stopped by " Stone Man & Gem Lady " to get my bracelet fixed while I waited. Had an AWESOME lunch with Scharrion at Harbor View Cafe (really love the food & Katie excels as wait staff). Then the "Celebration of New Ministry" for Mtr Betsy last night with the Bishop. A very full and fun day. Today is an eye exam, a nap, a massage & then back to work at OMG AM tomorrow.

crafting group

After being in MS for 2 years, I finally have the time to start up a monthly craft group. Today I kick off the first meeting at my home for crafters, be they card makers, scrappers, whatever. Let the fun begin!

I PASSED!! I PASSED!!!!

so, for those of you that have been following along... I fell off the faceof the earth (or at least online & MS Gulf Coast area) to study for my CCHT. that is the National exam board that I am required to pass in order to remain gainfully employed as a PCT (Patient Care Technician) in any state. Currently I am employed in the state of Louisiana as a PCT but there is an eighteen month window from the time I graduated (July 2012) to when I must pass the exam. Otherwise, I would have to find other work. Not what I wanted to do so I studied. And I did practice exams. And I studied. And I studied some more. And I PASSED it yesterday! My chosen test sight was Metarie, LA. My reasoning behind that was that it is right around the corner from New Orleans and I was needing a French Quarter fix. What better way to celebrate passing the CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician) board than with coffee & beignets at Cafe du Monde with my BF?!? Strolled around the frech Quarter, s...

archetypes

As I begin this Lenten Season I am choosing not to deprive myself or "give up" something like coffee or chocolate or sugar but rather to sit in meditation (which I have gotten away from these last 2 years with going back to school and all) and reconnect with that which is Source for me, and to do so by studying and awakening my brain to some larger thoughts. I started by doing some looking into where I am now in my life, and what archetypes are showing up for me at this time. Who am I? Where am I going? Why am I here? archetypes are defined as the original pattern or model of which all things of the same type are representations, "a universal and recurring image, pattern, or motif representing a typical human experience.". The concept of the archetype relies on the work of three men Carol Jung, Northrup Frye, and Joseph Campbell. Carl Jung , a pioneer in the field of psychology, focused on the psychoanalytic features of the archetype. He defined an archetype as ...

Catching Up

ok, I know... 12 days later... but what a fun filled 12 days!! So, I started a journal for this year's Year of" project. the idea is to take a picture of some event or activity or item that stood out for me that day and then jot down a quick paragraph about it. I am actually keeping up with that, and with work, and with card making... so in that grand scheme of things, going 12 days without a post on here is not such a bad thing as it at first seemed to be when I looked at the last post's date :-) The 10th was my son's birthday.... got to talk with him for a bit. And, as it was my day off, I finally got around to starting the scrapbookking process of all the stuff I have collected for a particualr album dating back to Jan 2010. On the 11th I worked, and if you know me you know my days at work are LOOOONGG. The 12th I was a massage dummy for demonstration of leg work. Poor me, I know. :-) 13th was sink repair day. 14th I was called in to work for someone who couldn...
