catching up

Well, most of the fires at work are put out.... and I have now been to the grocery store, crossed all 10 items off of Monday's "to do" list. As a treat, I spent last night rolling polymer clay through the pasta machine (then made some beads with that) while Elizabeth visited and crocheted. Tonight I will be typing up 2 more chapters of the autobiography I am working on{ for a publisher... is really interesting... is about one of Texas's Attorney Generals experiences in and out of the war, the Texas legal system, the inner machinations of the Texas government }. On the way back from publisher's, I inadvertantly drove past David's old apartment... felt like a kick in the stomach. We had such great times there... sometimes the loss is felt more vividly, I guess, even 5 months later. Saturday Nov 5th is our 1st Annual Company BBQ, so will be a fun weekend. Then, next weekend I go to Mom's!! Wish I could see brother & his family a little more often, t...

And so begins November

Well, it is THE SEASON at work, so I am being kept fairly busy. With that said, I inherited a pasta maker yesterday and stayed up cranking out Sculpey til almost 1am. Today I am a tired puppy, but some pals are coming over to play with my inner child tonight. Still doing my Weight Watchers program, but I have switched from Flex to Core plan. Now that it is has cooled off somewhat, the future looks brighter for walking. Callie is adjusting to being indoors. Buoy's ears are much better after clearing up the bacterial infection ... poor little man. Abigale's sleepover at Windsor's has become a semi-permanent arrangement... I miss her, but she seems to like the space & the quiet. ..Callie was just driving her up the wall. TIme to make final installment on Jayce's college semester...then figure out how to pay for the next semester... :-( And, I will be travelling to Mom's (have not been since May 2005) to deliver goodies.. turns out she has an older sewing machine...

Well well well... I can sew!!

Seems every weekend is a new experience... last weekend I sailed in 35MPH winds... MY MY!! That will wake you right up I swear! This weekend I took a sewing class from Shauna Smith (owner of First Samples http://www.firstsamples.com/ ) and actually sewed something OTHER than my own fingers together. Made a little carry pack first, getting acquainted with the machine. Then off to Hancock Fabrics... fake fur & red dangle berries... and I made a PILLOW!!

oh I am so behind!!

Well, I sorta let this get away from me, didn't I? See what a trip to California will do for me? Got some awesome pictures while I was there, almost forgot to come back! Wine country was gorgeous, got several bottles of Sauvignion Blanc for mom whilst there. Great friends let me crash for most of the visit. Mary & Robin even came to visit me while I was in San Fran. Sailing ont he Bay was a new experience. vastly different from sailing the 2 mile wide basin in Lake Travis, I tell ya!! And they do not wim in the ocean there...thought that was a wee bit odd (until I put my hand in the water!!) since we swim in the Gulf. Totally different climates, that was for SURE! So, got back on a Weds and spent rest of the week catching up at work. Yesterday I FINALLY got the last of the filing done that was created from the massive stack of payments I posted & invoices I created for all the transactions while I was away forgetting all about work. :-) So, I will post some pics in m...

well...damn!

Okay, yes, i know i am behind in my posting...good thing I am the only one payin' attenton, huh? well, another successful weekend sailingon Lake Travis...preparing for the California trip... just over 2 weeks away!! I am SO excited. Gonna sail, look up a business or two and see if anything pans out there, meet some of Dave's friends, and generally try to remember that I DO have to come back. The sun, the ocean breeze, the gulls, the smell of the salt in the air, the sound of the surf...I could grow accustomed to that life.... Okay, one more place to post and I am in the bed!

my Weekly Update, I guess

well... it seems to be more of a weekly thing than a daily thing... but here I am again! My week was spent productively, believe it or not. Sunday the 7th we went to see Granny & Granddad for the evening, then Monday Jayce & I went shopping for dorm stuff & clothes. Cant send him to college in tattered clothing, now can I? Tuesday was spent with Dave, repairing a window on the boat...will see how it holds up & then plan the other side. Also got teak railings off to redo them... that seems like a major task, even compared to the leaky window. Last night was dinner and a meeting with Sheila, who I've not spent much time with lately. Saturday will be my neice's birthday BBQ in Hutto, TX. Then hopefully sailing on Sunday to round out a week spent rather well. Boss missed me on Mon & Tues, that was heartwarming. :-)

Walking Day 2

well...upped the pace a bit... got 2 miles walked in 35 mins. I was shooting for 30, but stopped to pick up my wandering kitty along the way! Tomorrow is weingh-in for my Weight Watchers group... course, only been walking for 2 days... wont show much, if at all...sigh. New employee started at work today- Terri. Seems really decent, not to gun shy about learning stuff, and friendly to boot. Single mom, altho her kids are all over 20 (boys, all of them..sheesh!!).
