Assembly Line Card Making
How to make 12 assembly line style gatefold cards out of 10 sheets of 8.5x11' cardstock

Pick your papers! I suggest colors for card bases that coordinate with the focal pieces if using nuetral colors for your matting panels. Or, use neutral colors for the focal pieces & card bases and use color pieces for the matting panel pieces. Up to you.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

6 sheets of card stock scored @ 2 1/8” & 6 1/8” then cut @ 4.25 lengthwise to make 12 gatefold card bases

3 sheets of card stock that you've cut down to 8x10. Now cut in half lengthways @ 4”. Then cut those 2 strips into 4 equal pieces measuring 4”x2.5” each for a total of 24 panel pieces (you will use 2 per card)

1 sheet of card stock you have cut down to 8x10.5". Now cut that lengthwise into 2” strips that are 10.5" long for a total of 4 strips. Now cut each of those strips into three pieces measuring 3.5”x2” for a total of 12 focal pieces (you will use 1 per card)

Rubber stamps or stickers, rub-ons, etc for the focal image/text
Coordinating ink color (or just basic black will work)
Paper cutter, ruler, adhesive of choice
Paper punches, embossing tools, inks, pens, etc if desired for embellishing

Decide how you want to lay out each card by placing 1 matting panel on each side of card front. Then layer focal panel onto each card as desired. Remember, if you are going to have focal piece go across opening of card, only glue it on ONE side! Decide how you want to decorate focal piece & embellish if so desired.

Poof, 12 quick cards!
