My Chaotic Realm

yesterday was just frustrating all the way around... so much to do and so little time left over after working in the "real world" ... so drove home, stopped for petrol, looked at my (negative) bank balance afterwards... depressed and tired of always playing "catch up", ya know? So went on home, only to get voicemail from Rebel about car needing a part that costs ALMOST as much as rent payment... so then I tried to meditate on CALMness for a bit... in the midst of bathing 4 dragons and having Abigale deciding I needed her to bathe me... so we went outside and sat in our (soon to be) patio area with some incense and Bud.... things will improve....

The last glories of summer...oh, wait, this is central Texas....it is summer all the way until Thanksgiving!! Well, Rebel was enjoying the last days until college started back up....

John McCain's policies, I was willing to concede that he may at least make a wise, rational president and represent a step in the right direction for the nation. No longer. With his pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, he has shown a spectacular, even dangerous lack of judgment. In addition to her frightening lack of qualification to be vice president (much less president) of the United States, Palin is an evangelical, anti-choice, pro-gun, right-wing conservative who wants creationism taught in schools. She is currently under investigation by the Alaska Legislature for alleged abuse of office. Many of us in Alaska simply cannot imagine Palin having anything to do with U.S. foreign policy, domestic policy, national defense or the countless other affairs of federal governance....

and I did not post at all... not since the passing of Alecta. Her sisters are still hardy, it appears... aging is a tricky thing. So, last eekend was the "Wise Women Workshop" at Pine Crone Labyrinth Retreat in Bastrop... an entire weekend of workshops intermingled with women sharing and walking the labyrinth and good food! Such a lovely place, I really do recommend it! So, Monday thru Friday last week was supposed to be a "quiet week" for us... nothing too much on the schedule. Then.the week actually began... Monday the Scottish folk made it home from abroad & picked up the snake we'd been boarding. Sold a desk on craigslist and then spent our gains at Animal Wonders getting the 50 gal tank set up for Thor & his new pal, Xena. Weds was a quiet night, dinner w/Rebel & GF, Thursday was a night, finally, at home! Friday I broke my toe... Saturday was art day @ Energy's place...Songstone came over early & carpooled with us! Always a wel...

well.. We came home from the meditation workshop last night only to find that Alecta has passed on ... she's crossed the Rainbow Bridge... we've had some sneaking suspicions about her sister, Tisephone, due to her losing her fur over her haunches. Is a sign of age for Robovorskis, it seems. And they are upwards of two - three years? How does that happen so fast!?! Ah well.. farewell to you, fur-friend, beloved sister & playmate... we know you are off on the next adventure already...

Got a thing going w/Critty's kiddo.... and the race is on to see who can come up with the name of this bird...was on the Audubon Society's flyer... any ideas?

Well, Spirit is off to leather class and I am holding down the zoo, waiting on the phone guy. Seems we can sometimes receive calls but can't make any out. Sigh. And since I am the contact # for the annual Festival of the Goddess , that just wont work! So, not quite 11am yet on this already toasty Saturday and I have gotten a lot done. Just not anything yet on my to-do list. Except for the corn casserole for tonight's Lammas celebration. I did, however, get Spirit's craisin oatmeal cookies done, the shred changed out for the rats & cavey, the lizards all fed, the snakes water bowls topped off & the feeders fed. Oh, and topped off the bird bath. And watered all of the front lawn. So now it is time to start on my list.... complete the sets of greeting cards, make cardboard containers for each, make some more Willendorf magnets, wait for the carpenter to show up to see about getting another reptile habitat built, wait for TWC to come fix my phoneline and wait for Pea...
