wedding card

A friend's daughter is getting married in May... the color theme is pink & black & white. Here is today's card I made for the upcoming nuptials. This is a gatefold 5.25x5.25 card & will have a vellum envelope for mailing. There will be a tutorial if you are interested in one of my classes.

OMG Busy...argh

So, been a tech short all this year at work. Well, she got to come back for 2 weeks in February & then her doctor pulled her again (had major surgery). All of that to say I have not been blogging or teaching classes the last 2 months. Hoping to get back in the swing of things after this month is over. I have created some project samples and tutorials to go with them but they are just sitting here, awaiting their audience. Here is one of them... this was a card made for my Dad... . Not sure when I will be teaching this class again. I will be teaching on March 13th if you are interested... in Long Beach. For today, though... my only day off the restof the week so I have a fresh pot of Dunkin Coffee and the radio already playing... off I go!

A new year has begun...

And, I see the holidays got the better of my blog...ARGH! Well, I spent most of the holiday season working, go figure. And the end of 2014 saw me sick sick sick but I am better now and carrying on. Actually breathing and not manufacturing my body weight (yet) in mucus, which is how most of yesterday went (while at work, no less). I'm now at the "couching up lung tissue" stage. That may be an improvement? Not sure. So, only one New Year's Resolution... the Reversed 52 week Feed the Pig pledge. That is what I am calling it, anyways. Today is week 1 and I have met the goal. Challenged a few folks but no takers yet. Now time to create a tutorial for January 9th class... this one is a bit lengthier so not sure if it will make the cut or not. Been so long since I spent any time in my art room that I have to excavate and ee if can find my work surface, first. All of Christmas has been put away and all new items indexed but that was as far as I got before the crud land...

sweat fest but chore accomplished!

Image
So, every Sunday I make a list of tasks and chores I am hoping to accomplish for the week. On the days I work, that is the only word written on that day... "Work" because after being gone from home 15-16 hours, I really don't feel like trying to get anything else done but sleep. What usually happens is that not all the itms on the list get done on their day so they get circled and bumped to the next day off from work. This particular chore got bumped from Monday to Wednesday to today.. and FINALY got done, at least as done as it can be for now. Next step is black weed barrier and a load of pea gravel. . Only thing left on today's list is visit Kathy's Book Depot to see how my card rack is fairing and then Art Night from 6-8pm. Can't stay any later because I have to work in the morning, sigh. It is a glorious day here on the coast so will leave you with another pic, this one over my roof where I was weeding.
