Completely skipped June!!
And, I knew it when I did it. I said "No" and it was good for me. The visit from my son, DIL & grandson at the end of June was FAB!! Then I had to work for the holiday as several people had it off. And a friend from high school was passing through my state that same week so we met for an afternoon lunch. Add to that the fact that my hand has been messed up since early June so what time has not been taken up with activity was spent on rest and recovery.
Last week we went to Franklin, NC. Turns out, the dates on the Echo Valley show were wrong. They held the “Open to the Public” show the same weekend as the dealer show… starts today. ARGH. Could not stay an extra week, so we made the best of it. Saw a few breweries, went to a couple of gem mines, some waterfalls in the GSM Nat’l Park, drove the Road to Nowhere and walked in the Tunnel at the end of it, visited Bryson City. Was really good to get away for a weekend. And spent a lot less that I would have!
While camping in June of 2021 I snapped my wrist out of place. Thought maybe it was broken but the X-Ray showed nothing broken. I was told to ice it and take NSAIDs. Then it happened again in August 2021 and again on June 3rd of this year. Finally got in to see an orthopedic surgeon who took new X-rays, on July 15th. Verdict? Carpal tunnel syndrome with cubital tunnel syndrome, early de Quervain with stenosing, tenosynovitis, and what appears to be a TFCC tear. I got 4 injections (corticosteroids) for the swelling and irritation. The orthopedic set an appointment for August 12th for another Xray (with contrast this time), immediately followed by an MRI (also with contrast) and then arthroscopy to see what can be done from there. In the meantime, it is to be in a removable cast when working, braced when not.
Since the "return to work" letter stated brace and light duty, work sent me paper work for doc to fill out. Joy, joy. That will wait until next week. Today is New Moon Circle. And a nap.....
