Rise and Shine

Well, have not posted since Memorial Day.. my birthday... so I thought I would update life as I know it. My Birthday weekend was terrific!! Slept in late... when I got up (finally) we went to lunch at Mugshots and found a terrific place to take Jayce to eat when he comes here to visit. Then we went shopping where I got a new bra & a new purse. Spent time on the beach with some new friends, walked the dog... went to bed tired and woke up for a massage!! Saturday met with SallyJo for brunch and then yesterday was spent getting ready for camping at SpringFest!

Yooper Trip 2025

We finally made it to the Upper Peninsula! Getting here wasn’t exactly smooth sailing, but hey—that’s part of the adventure, right? Friday night, we pulled the RV up to the house to start packing, and in true “oops” fashion, managed to fry the wiring in the entire living room. Turns out plugging the RV into the outside outlet while the hot tub was still on the same circuit was not our brightest idea. So now the living room is dark and moody. Issue#1 on the now-growing list of things we have to deal with upon our return. Don’t worry—Issues #2 and #3 will make their grand appearances later. We kicked off August 9th bright and early, tackling the usual last-minute scramble: packing the stragglers, taking out the trash, and finishing the dishes. All that domestic hustle before… heading to work. Because apparently vacations don’t start until after the real workday. This was our third adventure in the Itasca. What a weekend it was!!

What a terrific weekend I had!! Friday I worked and then met with the gals @ the LBCoC for arts & crafts night and taught the masking/sponging background technique. It was a blast... was going to make 3 different pieces but only got to the one, they were having so much fun! We also did a "punches swap" where folks brought their paper punches and cardstock and then we placed all the punches on a table and punched shapes from our paper from punches we dont own. Great way to share our supplies. Saturday was a fun filled sports event followed by the last meeting before Harrison County's 35th annual gem & mineral show and then on to a fantastically beautiful wedding for Casey & Bill. Sunday was off to a great start with LOTS accomplished (including brunch at Waffle House) before 11am and then a firepit created with red lava rock. Worked Monday and now have today off for all my errands.. let me leave you with a picture of our squirrel feeder as I head out the door...
