The charge is murder... The verdict is guilty

The defendant, Linda Guerro, has hereby been charged with 1 count murder and 2 counts attempted murder. On October 23rd, 2010, the defendant knowingly and willfully ran a stop sign near the intersection of southbound Manchaca @ Slaughter, striking Saphira and her two passengers. The defendant then continued driving, leaving the scene of the accident (she was subsequently stopped by onlookers). Saphira, Chaotic and PeaceRev were all taken from the scene; Saphira to her chosen doctor and her two passengers to South Austin Medical Center. While Chaotic and PeaceRev were treated for moderate to severe injuries and released the next day, Saphira suffered extensive injuries and later died as a result of those injuries on November 3rd, 2010. Linda Guerro entered her plea as "Not Guilty" when charged with three counts of attempted murder on October 27th, 2010. When the charges were amended on November 3rd,2010 to one count murder and two counts attempted murder, she changed her plea to "Guilty."

PeaveRev has (as of the date of this post) missed two full weeks of work. After her hand surgery Chaotic, being lucky enough not to rely on her hands for a living (unlike PeaceRev, who is a massage therapist) has been able to return to work part-time. The rest of her time is spent at the hand clinic doing occupational therapy and mourning the loss of her dear friend, Saphira. Both PeaceRev and Chaotic see a Chiropractor three times a week to deal with the resulting issues of being run over by a Mitsubishi Monterro. The driver was in so much of a hurry that not only did she not stop but-upon being returned to the scene of the accident she'd just caused- actually uttered the words "I am so sorry. I didn't realize I'd hit anything." No, I am not kidding. Witnesses who had stopped to render aid actuslly heard those same words. I know... I checked because I couldn't believe my ears.

Rest in Peace, Saphira. The dream will ride again...I promise. For now, it lives in my heart, right next to where I have placed the memories of our last 6 months together. You were brilliantly beautiful... one of a kind. You were there when it mattered most to me and I will miss you.
