and so ends the weekend

Okay, so I may be a non-conformist... but I had NO turkey on THE DAY. Yeah, well...
I look at it like this... I try to be thankful all year long. And, as a witch, we have three Harvest Festivals. Lammas is the first and is when we share the first fruits of our labors with the Goddess and those around us. The 2nd is Fall Equinox, when we share our abundance, even knowing that the final harvest is close at hand. And that leads us to Samhain, when we began preparations for the coming season of winter and inward time. So I am consciously thankful August 1st (or thereabouts) all the way through October 31st. The rest of the year, I try to work gratitide into my life as well. Not too shure, really, why a turkey is required, to be honest. Rebel grilled steak, Spirit made fresh green beans and mashed sweet potatoes (withOUT pineapple or sugar or pecans, mind you). Oh, and as Spirit's birthday was that day...we had spice cake!

So, you may wonder, how DID we spend the BIG DAY? Well, I cooked a rousingly good breakast, then off to help move Songstone's possessions out of a storage unit. Thank Goddess for Rebel!! Got all the big items EXCEPT the organ. That got left until Rebel & Spice could move it...Friday... I just stood back and watched the athletic duo heft away! Made me tired just watching! And then all 4 of us retired to Songstone's new abode to build a doggie yard. And, as the dogs were still there when we arrived for lunch today (yes, we finally ate some turkey!) I would say the whole 4 day "Holiday Weekend" was a success!

Clinic was a success, by the way. Going again Dec 5th! And, as I have not posted a card since 9/11/9 (maybe because Spirit went to the ER on 9/12?) I thought I would do so now. I've been making them... just not so many to sell. Made 60 Yule cards for personal use but having one person (then 1.5) doing the work of 2 limits my time. This is very easy... Sizzix puzzle pieces, glitter glue & sentiment. FYI: the missing puzzle piece is inside along with the words "...than you."

Blessings to you all on the cooler winds of winter.
