"Everybody's working for the weekend"

That is actually a Loverboy song and it should be played all over the world on Mondays just to remind us why we come to work every day. However, as it is Saturday, I am AT work... there is something wrong about that, it seems! Would love for boss to decide that being open 8am-noon on Saturdays is just not cost effective. If we were closed, I could do something else with my time, like sleep til 8am!! I have had a grand total of one phone call (which I took a message for because it was for my co-worker) and one walk in client (Who dropped off a payment off for a meters account...which is D's realm, not mine, so I left that on her desk). Basically I have done nothing that would qualify as REAL work yet... and it is 10:30am. SIGH.............. 2.5 hours down, 1.5 to go.

Pythons did not eat last night.... day 8. We'll try again Sunday night and see if hungry yet... maybe they just need to be on a two-week cycle. Lady on the Reptile Board did respond to my query. She is a breeder of BPs and said that they tend to slow down a bit as fall moves in... maybe it is just that time of year for them?
Today, after I get home, Spirit & I will be relocating the snakes into the middle bedroom, leaving the beardies in the eastern facing room alone. Beardies bask at about 105-110`F and like ambient around 85 or so... that is on the high end of the snakes temp requirements. We've put them on opposite sides of the room as a means of trying to keep seperate temp ranges but with the new MVB lamps that is just not possible in Sept in Central Texas. So to the smaller, cooler room go the pythons. They also need less square feet of habitat so they take up less room. And pythons are not up for a lot of daytime foot traffic as they are nocturnal...and the big end room is also art room. So moving the pythons into smaller, quieter room is probably best idea. The beardies are diurnal & very social so they will be fine with me in the room doing art... I will have an audience... oh no, performance anxiety!
Added to the temp issues, we are looking at rescuing a mishandled baby ball...he is about the size of Agathos...about 18 inches long. Not sureof age, they are guessing 5 months. He's not been well-cared for... we are in the process of verifying we are equipped to rehab it. We are also looking at taking in 2 more beardies... owner has no time to spend with them, cannot give them the attention they need any longer so is seeking a safe place for them to go... turns out the current owner lives about a mile away from us...have invited her over to check out our set-up, see if she feels we would provide a good home for them.
