So begins the weekend

Well, am 4 hours away from the weekend. I have to work tomorrow, but that does not really count. I'll bring my "Self_Portrait" swap to work on. Also have to file & have a 5 page list of people that owe money.. I LOVE sneaking up on them on weekends! Then to Pam's to help her set up an art area in a spare bedroom, then a swim, then Coffee w/Sailing Dave. Sunday I am hooking up w/Elizabeth for a ride into Austin to do some stuff in town, but only after sleeping late & having a liesurely breakfast! No stress...no worry... a good plan, I think. May everyone else fare so well...

too damn short staffed at work

the title is also my reason for not posting in a month.. .geez!! I am working in a field where the average worrk week is SUPPOSED to be 3 days... try FIVE. and when those days are anywhere from 11-15 hours, you dont really wnat to work them all in a row... not even back to back. What I’m Practicing in 2026 Instead of Hustling

I’m not replacing hustle with another aesthetic version of productivity. I’m not optimizing my rest or monetizing my healing. What I’m doing in 2026 is practicing—slowly, imperfectly—ways of living that don’t require me to be in constant pursuit mode. Here’s what that looks like right now. I’m practicing pace. Letting things take the time they take. Leaving margin. Choosing “not yet” more often than “push through.” I’m practicing embodied yeses and noes. Listening to my body before my calendar. Noticing where tension appears when I agree to something—and honoring that information. I’m practicing enoughness. Stopping at “good and sufficient” instead of polishing myself into exhaustion. Shedding some light on things

Last night, Jeff (the adorable 'can do it all' son of our next door's neighbor) came over and started revamping Luna & Loki's habitat lighting. The ballasts for our 4 foot UV tubes was out of date & old so Lokie went 2 days without UV :-( and therefore wont eat. Tube would work IF you held it up against the ballast but I cannot do that 12.5 hours a day AND go earn kibble. So, part of 1 the lighting project done last night and part 2 will be completed tonight. Hecate & Indra got their new lights installed Sunday but we lacked all the needed supplies for the complete revamp on the L&L one. I spent last night running recycle to "Green Guy" in San Marcos and then I cleaned habitats, made stuffed tomatoes (think bell pepper but with tastier surroundings) and created some sympathy cards for a client that needs one.
