Busy Busy week so far...

and now it is off to the Planner Play group for a lunchtime gathering then the PT gig. So far this week I have worked 22 hours, pulled in all the plants so she could build an enclosure for the winter (since it hit freezing here already), held a book club meeting, a full moon fire circle and made some tarot ATCs. Whew!! See ya!

November Check-In

#1) Participating in my art group's "Birthday Club" and send a handmade item to each MET #2) 2019's weekly scrapbook layout challenge over at the Scraptacular Cropping Club missed 10/16 & 10/23 challenges... life and work. 10/30 still on my plate. #3) Monthly lottery challenge in my ATC Art Group on IO Groups. Did not participate in the October lottery due to vacation. #4) Follow my budget and pay off my ALL debt by this year's end. This is not going to happen as I just got hit with a $700+ car repair bill. UGH. But I am continuing to follow my plan and avoid getting farther behind on medical bills and such. What have I done? Uploaded all the photos from the Big Vacation :-) and ordered prints for my scrapbook. Also uploaded Days 146-191 of my CCJ365 Project. Feeling pretty good about that! And we hosted a lovely Samhain Circle. Today I finished setting up my 2020 Big Happy Planner and added my budget and bill pay pages, Birthday Master List and sabbat da...

Wet but happy

It is raining on the Coast... has been for DAYS..... and since my car is in the hospital getting an expensive repair I ham on 2 wheels. The brighter side is that L took me to cancer follow-up yesterday and we had a lovely day filled with good news, lunch and puttering in Mobile. I have planned an event for Samhain, rain or shine. That means I will be having a bonfire Circle regardless of who does or does not show up due to weather. Sigh. I am in the process of fine-tuning the details but it will be very low key, even for me. :-) One of the items on my "Do this THIS year!" list is almost complete and I am stoked! There are several things on that list: Turn all my CDs into digital files. Destash art supplies I am no longer using. Clean out clothes in my closet I no longer need or want or wear. Completion of some of my older "I want to do this" art projects. And indexing all of my stones and giving them a new home so that they are easily accessible and readily availa...

Forgot to do my check in!

#1) Participating in my art group's "Birthday Club" and send a handmade item to each MET #2) 2019's weekly scrapbook layout challenge over at the Scraptacular Cropping Club Missed 2 challenges while on vacay. #3) Monthly lottery challenge in my ATC Art Group on IO Groups. Did not participate in the September lottery. #4) Follow my budget and pay off my ALL debt by this year's end. This is still very much a work in progress.

It really is all it is cracked up to be!

What is, you ask? VACATION!! What a great time the three of us had! Yes, we took Midi and no, we did NOT take the cats. Cindy was tasked with the cat-sitting and she _as ALWAYS- excelled at it. But I digress... Even getting up @ 2am to hit the road does not suck when you are leaving on vacay. Dinner with L's folks the 1st night (after a 13-hour drive). Then up again @ OMG in the morning, headed for Villanueva, New Mexico. On the way, we had lunch at the halfway point of the Historic Route 66 . After another LONG DRIVE, we made it and set up camp since we were staying 2 nights. The next day we headed to Sante Fe to see a few sights (including petroglyphs, the nation's only encaustic art museum, and Laguna Burgers on Rte 66). Saw so much we got locked out of the park and had to walk in and wake up the Ranger to unlock the gate. Sheesh! The next day we pulled out and drove 12 hours to Flagstaff, AZ. And what a drive it was. We saw El Malpais , passed the Ice Caves and Bandera Vol...

It's the little things...

... added up, that make life special. The bestie, backing up what she was watching when I got home so I could see it. Why? Because she knew I would appreciate the finale more if she started it over for context. The mani/pedi I got today with matching fingers AND toes. No, that is NOT usual for me. I like for my toenail polish to be way off the wall. But today it is a beautiful fall reddish-orange. And I love it. The dog that came and woke me up at two minutes before 7am. He was so very happy to see me :-o And now that he has had his car ride he is asleep at my feet. The scrapbook page I did that used the last photo from our Avery Island trip in August... so many fun memories. The grateful friends who I gave printed habit trackers to after I printed them. My beautiful and green backyard that was mowed (so I didn't have to). All the hard work the bestie is doing on her renovation project so we can use it soon! and clean drinking water... really thankful for that on the hot sweaty day...

My latest surgery went well....

And hopefully, my latest surgery will also be my LAST one. I have a followup at Memorial hospital in about 30 mins so this blog post will be a short one. Surgery was Friday and I was up and about (albeit delicately and slowly) that evening. I probably did a bit too much on Saturday (swollen & painful) so Sunday was a total "do nothing" day. Monday I chilled around the house and got as prepared as possible for my 1st day back at work. It did not start well but it ended up being just fine. Gearing up for our upcoming "Westward Ho!" trip. I looked at my work schedule and I am working 9 days total for the month of September. When people look at what I do in a day's work and they think I am crazy for choosing this profession, this is one of the things I will point out to them: I only worked 9 days in September. :-) PTO accrual is a wonderful thing, and I think required for my soul. I need to get away from the stress of work frequently. Off I go! Hope you ha...
