My Chaotic Realm

Here is a wonderful site I found for some insight during the new moon on Saturday... I ended up working (third day in a row) but when I got home I found 1/2 of the new kitchen floor had been laid! Bless her heart!! Sunday was cleaning out the old house and getting all the shinies & chimes and things out of the back yard. Today was unpacking and doing the March newsletter for the Gulfport Gem & Mineral Society. Then I made some Chex mix, cooked some fish for dinner, packed meals for work (Tuesday & Weds)... now I await Jayce's arrival this Saturday!

got the last of the move done yesterday.. all appliances hooked up and running.... can you say exhausted? worked today, closed. home now.. tomorrow is ART ONLY day!!!

OK ...today is my first full day off since papers were signed and now I begin moving in earnest... all those boxes I have been packing over the last several days will begin their trek to their new permanent location!! Electric and water are being turned on today, gas ppl coming Monday to turn it on and light pilots, etc. Handyman coming Saturday to fix the small plumbing leaks and whatnot. Moving company coming next Monday to get the big stuff (which is why I have to get all the boxes out of their way) and then we will relocate cats and ourselves... whew!

Council camping was a blast.. got to start the Natchez Trace from the Southern Terminus. Would like to take several days and do all 444 miles of it, camping & hiking along the way. One thing this year taught us: if we continue insisting on camping IN February, we need a winter (or all-weather) tent. The summer tent is GREAT for ventilation but when temps are hovering in the 30s I don't really WANT ventilation. Laureli had the brilliant idea of covering our screens with those emergency mylar blanket thingies. Worked amazingly well. Also put the same sort off insulation (except thicker) between the mattress and our sleeping bags. With the heater on (the electric one, Dad, not the kerosene this time) we were surprisingly toasty in the tent. Then just had to bundle up really well for the hiking explorations. Returned home and had yesterday & today off so all the laundry is done and the preparations for the event happening some time this month have begun. Stay tuned for more n...

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for all six of Mississippi's coastal counties, along with many interior counties. This watch started today at 6 a.m. and will continue through Wednesday morning at 6 a.m. That means we had to run all our M/W/F patients we normally run Monday PLUS all of our T/T/S patients who would not be able to be run today because our clinic had to close. After running 121 patients I got home late last night only to wake up at 7am. So I have put this time to good use crafting and drinking coffee. Oh, and can you say shaving cream paper? FUN!! I am all sorts of colors right now but oh what fun. Also working on a set of kite ATCs for a swap coming due March 1st. Tomorrow is a late start at work due to icing on roads but then weather is supposed to warm up just in time for camping trip to Natchez. I will return from Natxhez just in time to go to print with the February issue of Gulfport Gems, the newsletter for the Harrison County Gem ...

OK- I am tired of being ill. I started getting sick last Thursday with the itchy scratchy throat & cough thing. Has been escalating since I worked way too many days in a row. Laureli has been doing a grand job keeping me upright enough to drive to work and I have been doing my part by wearing a mask and keeping my germs to myself once I get to work. Yesterday I laid on the couch for the entire day, other than the 90 mins Laureli made me go outside in the sunlight...something about Vitamin D or some such. Of course, once I got out there I promptly fell asleep again, this time in the grass with Mr. Buoy. She was nice enough to wake me up for the lunch she brought out to me while I was in quarantine in the yard. Home from work now... and back to couch I go....

I have been participating in a group that was originally called Highlowaha bc that was what started it.. focusing on one HIGH, one LOW & one AHA moment every month. It has since progressed into "House of Shine" and has many bright & intelligent people as well as some really cool projects. One of those Projects is "The Year of Project" . I have been involved with this particular project since its inception and this year will be no exception. 2014 will be my "Year of the Art Journal". I have always wanted to do one but have always managed to move it to the back burner because so many other things have more importance to them than the project I want to work on that is just for myself. This year, I am doing it. I will still continue making greeting cards in my spare time off work, as well as jewelry, altering books, reading, lounging on the beach, etc...
