Good vs Evil

I am reading a book that one of my TTS patients shared with me and I found a conversation in there about GOOD versus EVIL that I wanted to put out as "food for thought" as we move into 2013 and into a shifting consciousness. I wont repeat the whole thing but just the jumping off point of the conversation: Remember that EVIL is simply a WORD.. it is not a REAL thing. The word is not describing an actual item but rather a lack or absence of something else: Good. So. just as darkness is the absence of light or death is the absence of life, evil is only be understood in relation to good, just as darkness or death are understood only in relation to light or life. They do not have an actual existence. I wonder, what would happen if we chose to focus on the actual event rather than the absence of the event? If we chose to live in the light, the life, the good, the love of something bigger than ourselves, what would happen? If removing ourselves from light/life/good gives us...

Blessings of the Storm....

Image
Be it Yule or Christmas or Hanukkah (Festival of Lights) or Kwanzaa ("first fruits" in Swahili) I wish you many blessings of love and light as 2012 draws to a close. As for those of us living on the southern MS Gulf Coast, a storm is coming with some severe weather, tornadic winds and rain. Worked Monday then home for a brief nap before heading to the choir party, which was followed by choir practice and then the midnight mass... exchanged gifts when we got home and them settled in for a long winter's sleep. Don;t know about the sugar plums because I was dead dog tired. Slept late then leisurely enjoyed a couple of cups of Dunkin' Donuts Mocha Mint holiday coffee until, feeling refreshed and starving, we headed to Waffle House for pumpkin spice waffles and hash browns covered & capped. YUM!! Then strolled along the beach before heading to Scharrion's place to greet her. Now, storm is spattering the cats with rain so we have called them all indoors and are...

as the week ends....

I am (mostly) blessed with good health as this week ends... high pressure front moved in Tuesday night causing terrible (ie:puking) headache but only killed about 3/4 of my day off. At work today I got my ass kicked... looks like everyone did, too, so I don't feel as bad about it as I could. Met some new friends (and a couple of old ones) at a Circle last night for Winter Solstice... wish could get regular group going. Singing in choir at St Pat's Midnight Mass (will make for REALLY long day, since I have to be up at 3am to work 4am-5pm). I wonder how well dead people sing because I will have been up way too long by the time the bells ring out midnight. Someone asked if I was cooking for Christmas... ha! I have no meal even planned. I work xmas eve and will be wiped... only REAL plan for tuesday is to sleep in. Since I am low man on totem pole (ie: no PTO built up) I am working 4 days (instead of standard 3) both the week of xmas and new years. sigh. And having to get up at ...

Time for a nap...

I finally peeled myself out of my flannel sheets and wrapped up in my new fluffy Crofts & Barrow zip up robe around 7:30am this morning. Since that event 5 hours ago I have crossed off a multitude of things on my "to do" list! The only things left now are those that require me to leave my humble yet cozy abode: post office, money order, drop off a found phone at nearest AT&T center and renew my last library book. I will begin on that portion of my list right after the NAP that I have planned. You see, when you have to get up at 3:30am the next day yet you want to see people and eat dinner with friends, etc you must plan ahead. That 2 hour nap may not seem like a lot at the time but it is the difference between going to bed at 8pm (when your dinner date gets off work) or going to bed at 10pm. So... good night to all of you... see you around 2pm.

A day off! The only work-related item is a nap so I have enough sleep before I have to be at work at OMG AM tomorrow morning. I need some crimp beads since it seems I am either out or I cannot locate any in my stash. Since most of you know I am fairly well organized, I am better it is the first choice rather than the latter. Thought I would make some more seasonal cards to send out personally. Am going to run to post office later today for my roomie so may as well get my cards ready to send out. All 4 cats are out (3 are free-ranging, 1 which makes me a nervous wreck, sigh) and so is the dog, Slightly damp from last nights rain but they do not seem too put out by the weather so out they are. A couple have come in for breakfast but returned to the wild ASAP. I, however, have not yet had my breakfast. I am imbibing coffee so it is the next best thing to actual food. Also on my "to do" list today is to write both of my pen pals and catch them up on November...
Wow, almost 2 months since my last post... can you tell when I started full time at DaVita? Argh.. will have to be more mindful of it now that I am only doing DaVita and "cards by chaotic". Yes, you read that correctly...I QUIT ROUSE'S. And I am so relived. It had gotten to the point of hating to go to work. UGH. Great December so far... started Saturday working then decorating the house for Yule. Had church on Sunday followed by lunch with Ahrend and 3 hours browsing Michael's whilst awaiting the start of the "5 hour only" sale. And I got 20% off EVERYTHING, even my already on sale 40% off items. I rocked that place. Monday was off at Davita so spent day at home making cards to send out for the holiday season. Have cut my list from 40+ to only 19. I am happy about that, really. Can tell a lot about relationships when you move 600 miles away from what had been home for 2 decades. December 7: Mercury conjuncts the north node-What this means for ME! The c...

How I spent last Sunday

Image
Went hiking along the Tuxachanie National Recreation Trail last Sunday with some friends. Beautiful day for it, and I only took 142 pictures! According to the website, The Tuxachanie Trail, near Mississippi's Gulf Coast, is a National Recreation Trail offering a 22-mile hike through southern Mississippi's Desoto National Forest. The first 5 miles follow an old abandoned railroad that once served the sawmill of the Dantzler Lumber Company at Howison. Hikers will encounter a variety of forest vegetation; savannahs and swamps lie between the ridges. Here, pitcher plants and palmettos grow in abundance, as well as the occasional wild orchid. Timbered ridges of longleaf and slash pine add to the scenery. We only went in 2 miles and then came back out along the way we came in. Hence, "only" 142 pictures. those of you that know me well will actually understand that inside joke. Monday found me at Rouse's, as did Wednesday. On Tuesday & today I went to Gaston Poi...
