My Chaotic Realm

well, over a week has gone by since I last posted...that is what happens when you are a wee bit under the weather over the weekend, then sick enough to miss work the 1st part of the week...sigh... and did I get ANY art done? NO :-( But, with the help of Rebel (and the added lure of a free lunch!) I did get my card rack set up at the Bastrop Producer's Market , near the intersection of Highway 71 & Highway 21!! So now we see, I guess... so many people have told me how much they love my cards but those people KNOW me. Will I succeed selling to people that DON'T know me? Who knows... but I do know that, with 12 birthdays coming up, I suddenly miss my card rack. Will have to go visit it Sunday before the New Moon @ PineCrone Labyrinth and snag a few of my own! Or, stay well long enough to make some more. I have been adding to the "Project Box" but not doing. sigh. Actually, lots of time, just most of my time is taken up by work... what is not taken up by work I give (happily) to my community so what time is left for home/art/creative activities is taken up with animal tending, household chores, and a few hours of sleep tossed in for good measure... sigh...

My feet hurt, I am too busy, and I wanna go back to bed...and that ^^^ is what I woke up with....sigh

Well, this was actually Tuesday's song, but now it is Wednesday and I am just getting back to blogging. I SO admire the people that can blog EVERY FREAKIN' DAY! I do good to get the song in my head out onto paper/web/whatevr before I lose them, much less post here EVERY day! This Saturday I will be visiting my parental units which is always an interesting time. Update on the Bastrop fire, for those keeping up... Officials are calling it one of the worst fires ever to strike Bastrop County. The wildfire charred more than 1,200 acres of land, destroyed 28 homes and displaced hundreds of residents.The blaze began at around 12:30 p.m. Saturday and continued well into Sunday. I wrote an essay for "WWFHH" not too long ago on what the turning of the Wheel was like here, deep in the heart of Texas. At that time, I had to go back and try to recall the different nuances of the seasons here... mostly, what I recall is HOT. Sigh. So, as we have just celebrated Imbolc, I would like to take a moment to make note of the weather here. Imbolc is the Festival of the Returning Light for me. The DEEP time starts at Samhain and I turn inward as the earth begins to do the same. The Winter Solstice marked the longest night, so the days began to lengthen... but not so much as I would notice it. Imbolc/February is generally the time of what passes for Winter here. Brutal cold for a day or 2, then back to 50s for highs, 35-40 for lows. Then another front passes through and we get ice for a day and temps that wont crawl into the 40s even in the afternoon.
