Well... I will post some before and after photos soon.... but let me go ahead & get the notes down... you see, driving home from work on 1826 Tuesday, I came across a turtle in the highway... I always stop if they are not obviously dead....gotta get them off the road! So, as he did not LOOK injured, I pulled over. When I walked up, it was evident he'd been clipped, and recently judging from the blood pool. I went to move him over so no one else would pull over for him (or hit him) and he was NOT dead!! Could not leave him there, could not set him on roadside (ants) and could not put him in pond (bacteria in open wound not good!) so what to do....? Take him home, of course! Into the ice chest I carry with me for groceries and home we go. Got him home, rinsed him off, then lavaged with povidone iodine (10%) solution & rinsed him again. He lived through the night, ate some, but oh, my, the damage.... :-( A day spent surfing the web & talking to Randy @ the Aquatics ...

Well, about to see Rebel, pick up Spirit and head to San Antonio Texas.... Deuce's mother, Carolyn Jordan, was laid to rest in Corsicana yesterday. Today is the Memorial Service at her church (Highland Hills) for friends and family. A sad, sad day... but also a day of new beginnings... it is at this point that Deuce can begin letting go of the Mother role and taking on the mantle of "Crone" ... a passing of the torch. And with every end comes a new beginning... as the grief passes those will appear. Brightest Blessings to Deuce and her family.

Blueness mailed an identical envelope of materials out to each of us. I had to make 1 ATC using some of EACH of the materials and ONLY THOSE to create 1 ATC. This meant no pens, markers, stamps, stickers, papers of any kind, tape or any other material of my own ! Utensils such as scissors, glue, paintbrushes, were allowed. At least some portion of every material was to be incorporated into the ATC. I even used the envelope Blueness mailed it in, since she said EVERYTHING!!

Well.... 6 weeks after disappearing, Deuce's mother has been found. The memorial service will be held at Highland Hills Baptist Church, 2751 E. Southcross in San Antonio. You are all welcome, time is 3pm. Call (210) 534-5466 for details.

Well, after having taken the F150 to National Transmission (South Austin shop) for repair, it was speedily done and for reasonable cost. I'd only dealt with William (North Austin location) before, but was so impressed by their work on my personal car as well as all the work we'd referred them in my years at Tarrytown Automotive (now Newberry Automotive at its new location) that I had no qualms whatsoever in taking the F150 south. However, when it came time to pick up the vehicle, I was told that I could not have it because the service that they use (Global Check Services) said my check use is too low. 1) I have banked with Compass continually for over 15 years, and 2) the check use is low because I usually use my check card, and 3) Compass closed my original account after a book of checks was stolen and opened a new one, starting my checks where the original account left off.
