Friday... or Monday?

Well, technically it is Friday today... but as Spirit & I took off yesterday it is sorta a Monday... and with the turn in the weather (from 88`F to 24`F) work is just chock full o' morons. People P*A*N*I*C when the temperatures drop, I tell ya. And they are not even actually LOOKING to see if they are low on LPG, they just call all freaked out. Sigh. Yesterday was a wee bit busy. First my thyroid testing @ 8am, then Spirit got stitches out & had another procedure done, then lunch @ Kim Phung, then haircuts, and eventually headed home in time for the ABC pest people's quarterly checkup. Then we had to go pick up the crickets that had FINALLY ARRIVED ...and back home to feed some anxious (or is that annoyed?) dragons who'd been picketing for crix since Monday. The rest of the evening was spent hand coloring our Yule cards... and as neither one of us was paying attention to the TIME, we noticied the hour sometime around 11pm... EEK! So off to bed we went, tired but t...

These are from my "Express Yourself" mixed media artgroup on Yahoo.... an altered playing card (bottom left, pink) and an interactive ATC (other 2) using bottlecaps... stay tuned... 3 other groups have swaps coming up, and there is always something going on @ Nness :-) Today is going well enough, considering I woke up @ 6:32am instead of 6am!! Must have turned alarm off instead of hitting snooze. Sigh. Managed to get 3 cats fed, 4 salads made & handed to dragons, peeked in on (sleeping) furries, and saw both snakes in their logs... grabbed toast & coffee and headed to my car..even made it to work on time!

goodbye to yet another Friend

"If Tears Could Build a Stairway" If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say "goodbye". You were gone before I knew it, and only goddess knows why. My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to love you, no one can ever know. But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more; to remember all the happy times, life still has much in store. Since you'll never be forgotten, I pledge to you today- A hallowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay. Well, so long to another friend... Jeannie J passed 11/24/06 as a result of a motorcycle wreck.... but it would have been how she'd have wanted to go, I think. The memorial service was Sunday 11/26 at ARC and it was just wonderful. The room was filled to overflowing and many reassuring, reaffirming things were said during it. And now, for me & everyon...

Friday!! Well, sorta

well, 15 more mins and I will be calling it a weekend.... I got here early so I could leave a little early and head to HEB for last minute items, then to PetSmart for some holdover crix. We are out and the delivery schedule is askew due to Thanksgiving so will be MONDAY...Hecate wont wait that long! I got dirty looks today when I gave her the last seven this morning...I don't DARE walk in this evening with NONE. A friend on Nness got published in the winter issue of Stampington, pages 103 & 105. Can't wait for the magazine to hit the newsstands!! As for the "Holiday" drill... Spirit works her usual 6am-2pm Thurs & Fri...so we'll head to twin's in Hutto for TDay meal, then home, then I will catch up house chores, art swaps, etc on Friday whilst I wait for Spirit...Saturday we travel to the Homeland (Bandera, TX, y'all) to see the parental units, Sunday we REST!!

Thanksgiving to Yule...and why

Well, Thanksgiving is almost here! Of course, I feel like it has sorta already passed since we Pagans have already celebrated our THREE harvest festivals (Lughnasadh, Mabon & Samhain). But Thanksgiving gives me the chance to spend a PAID day off to spend with my brother & his family. And Saturday we'll go see my folks. That's the bad thing about being pagan...none of my holy days are paid days off. Sigh. Friday will be a day off, too, but unpaid. Bigger sigh. Speaking of holy days, I have requested Dec 22nd off at work using our Outlook calendar system. So far, no one seems put out by me asking off the Friday before Christmas. You see, we pagans celebrate Yule on December 21st... but the celebration runs from sunset 12/21 until sunrise the 22nd. We celebrate the longest night of the year with friends, staying awake to greet the return of the sun. I will be tired!! Pagans have as much right to claim this holiday as Christians. Perhaps even more so, as the Christians...

3 down, 1 to go

Well, have been here since 8am, filled one bottle, took 1 payment, answered 2 needless calls... and I still have an hour to go. Did finally get my Nervousness stuff sorted out. Have trades, PIFs, PCs, ATC swaps all pending, needed to remember who I told I would send what, and what is to be sent to me by whom. And ppl think art is not WORK! Apparently, 13 is a good number for me... 13 critters live in our home, 13 events open on Nness... now just as long as I don't get involved in 13 art groups! The 4 on Yahoo are pretty spaced out. 2 are for ATCs only, other 2 are all forms of altered art. And there are just a few things open at any one time on any one board, so I rotate through those fairly quickly. MSN group has an ongoing deal, if you want to join, you simply send in your entry BEFORE THE DEADLINE. And they have already posted each month's theme throught August 2007, so makes it easy to wrok on them in between the other gorups. NNess has 4,816 members posting to 15,083 th...
