Highlowaha's post was made by Ray today, about our New Year's resolution and not getting up off our butts to do them yet... not true! I went to see doc earlier in the year and we are trying some things to see what can be done about my weight. I cannot come off my anti-seizure medication but I also cannot lose any weight if my heart rate is too depressed to climb over 90 while I sweat my ass off. Between the seizures & thyroid, my body is ...

I think you got me all wrong

out of time this morning... spent weekend with migraine & had to work around it so finally fell into a drugged stupor around 8:30pm last night.. makes the mornings hard to get going.... so I now have 10 mins before I have to leave for work and have not even had breakfast yet... sigh. This is a group shot of another of the "green" series I did. They all have something in common, incl the 4 from the earlier shot. This is the set (plus the other shot) that I did using a group of items to creat as many cards as possible. I also recycled the backing sheet from the stickers (green w/white polka dots). Some have embossed backgrounds, some are stamped w/VersaMark & then blue EP & heat embossed. The green felt coaster is also in this group as well as the same couple of ribbon rolls. These are all items from the $1 bin @ Michael's, by the way. I wanted to see what type of (and how many) cards could be done for under $10, including the card stock for bases.

great day w/HLA!

well, I don't know how YOU spent the 4th of July... we spent it watering the lawn! And organizing "The Library". Pictures to follow. But today-- today is the most important part of this holiday! We got to meet up with Claudia, Cheryl & Katie from HighLowAha !! Met for lunch at Guero's then headed on over to (news to me) is an Austin icon... Mr. Cupcake. Imagine an Airsteam with a huge cupcake mounted on top dispensing hand size balls of delicious sticky heaven and you'll be close. Then, we scooted up to N Austin (and boy do I mean NORTH!!) and picked up a GENEROUS donation to the Austin RCG lending library. This is something that we've been trying to get up & running for a while now & it is finally coming together. Ellen kindly doanted several bookcases as well as books, as has Pammyla. Books have been coming in from all over and- with DQ's donation- we will have a right proper library by the end of this month!! You see, we had ot get ours u...

Purple Rain

Yes, I know this is sideways, but I am in a hurry! Friday... I will be the only one at work since the other 2 gals took off for the holiday. I am taking the July 4th holiday on Columbus Day, after Festival of the Goddess . This is a series of cards I made using the same paper on each..a theme, if you will. The latticework bird (top left in pic) is actually using a felt coaster.

But why do I feel this party's over?

I'm safe, up high.... ah, Pink! What a way to get moving in the morning. So, this card is a cream base, green paper that was run thru the Sizzix with a texture plate, a punch that started life as a backing sheet for some stickers I bought, a sticker on that, some ribon & RS the sentiment in VersaMark, sprinkled w/EP & heat embossed. Thursdday... the day I go pick up a catalog and some stamps from Stampin'Up (SU) demonstrator Terry Foley ! 'Course, have to get through work 1st. Sigh. Then home to finish working on some ATC sets I have due out next week. Also, since Rebel is home, going to get him to start digging our compost pit so I can empty the containers in the fridge. Coffee grounds, egg shells, raw veggie remains, newspaper, etc will land in there instead of the trash can.

time to make the donuts

Am I the only one that recalls that commercial? I was telling myself that line this morning as I drug myself over the edge of the bed and into the shower... "Time to make the donuts." Click on the title and you'll be able to see the 1983 commercial :-) The inspiration for this card was Janee Ward . She had been trying new pencils on some textured paper & they were just not doing what she had expected. So, she tore up the attempt, switched pensils, and went on her way. She asked if I could recycle the scraps... and this is what one of them became. Twinkling H2Os, RS bee image, some ribbon...
